8 days on foot along the most famous Cathar Castles Path in France Sentier Cathare in France route that goes from the Mediterranean to the Pyrenees, will take you to discover the famous “Cathar castles” where epic battles of faith and resistance took place. Starting in Port la Nouvelle and ending in Comus or Foix, we will cross the departments of Aude and Ariège.
You will visit emblematic castles such as Aguilar, Quéribus, Peyrepertuse, Puilaurans, Puivert, Si Commences a Foix, also Montsegur, Roquefixade and Foix. These places will allow you to relive the fascinating and poignant history of Catharism, a faith persecuted by the Catholic Church in the 13th century. You will discover how the Cathars took refuge in impregnable fortresses to fight for their beliefs against the Albigensian crusade. While enjoying incredible scenery and getting to know the local culture and gastronomy.
