The Cathars of the PyrenSud is a circular route through the north of Catalonia, which connects two Sanctuaries; one, where the path of the Good Men begins, the Sanctuary of the Mare de Deu de Queralt in the Berguedà region and the other, the Sanctuary of the Miracle in the Solsonès region.
This route, starting at the Sanctuary of Queralt, follows the Path of Good Men where the Cathars came to take refuge after fleeing the Crusades and the Inquisition from the Ariège region in France. It passes through the counties of Berguedà, Solsonès and Alt Urgell joined by the town of Cardona in the north of Bages.
Following these last traces of escape, we will discover a truly attractive tourist route. What we will see in reality is not just a historical path. Today, what we will find is a grandiose and extraordinary landscape with a biodiversity typical of the altitude and southern location of the southern Pyrenees; welcoming paths linking mountain villages that evoke the lives of good men, also called the true Christians. You will be able to enjoy an elaborate gastronomy, Romanesque churches, monasteries, cobbled streets, castles… While learning about the richness of its history.
Two modalities,
On foot: 176 km
or by mountain bike: 198 km
